What is Certification?
Certification enables experienced users to receive special recognition for their knowledge of a specific Autodesk software application.
Who should attempt Certification?
Anyone seeking to validate their knowledge of Autodesk software. They must also have completed a fundamentals course and have had at least: 100 hours (for Associate level) and 400 hours (Professional level) hands-on experience using the specific software.

The certification process
Our instructor will prepare and instruct you for a full day beforehand. The following morning you will take the online exam: 1 hour or 90 minutes, depending on the level.
What is the difference between the Associate and Professional level?
There are two levels that you can qualify for:
- Certified Associate
- 60 minutes, 30 multiple choice questions
- Based on Essentials Level Courseware
- Diagnostic score report
This is the first level of Certification. This is a multiple choice exam to be completed within 60 minutes and it measures a participants’ knowledge on a specific Autodesk application. It is cost effective, easy to take, but still provides a knowledge “standard”.
Recommended experience level (2010 exams)
- Must have done the Essentials course
- 100 hours of hands-on application
2. Certified Professional
- Hands-on/performance based exam using Autodesk software
- 90 minutes, 20 items
- Diagnostic score report
Performance-based testing is defined as “testing by doing”. Rather than just answering questions about how one might accomplish a task the candidate actually performs the task, ie. it measures a participants’ ability to perform tasks on a specific Autodesk application.
Recommended experience level (2010 exams)
- Must have done the Essentials course
- 400 hours of hands-on application
Preparation and exams
The certification course is held over 2 days. This first day you will be instructed by our trainer in preparation for your next day exam. You need to complete and pass the Associate exam before being able to attend the Professional exam.
Thursday:
Full day preparation instruction (9AM – 4PM)
Friday:
Exam (60 or 90 minutes depending on the level)
